This year, Indian School Sohar celebrated the 151st birth anniversary of the Mahatma (a great soul). Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869, he went on to become the 'Father of the Nation' and was fondly addressed as Bapu.
The International Day of Non-Violence is also observed on 2 October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the Indian independence movement and pioneer of the philosophy and strategy of non-violence.
