A SNOWY NEW YEAR
IN GEORGIA
As a South Indian who spent the
majority of my life in Oman, snow only
existed in books and movies. I'd seen the
picture of a snowman once, and from
then have harboured a desire to make
one myself. So, there was no one
happier than me when I found out that
we were going to Georgia- a beautiful
country in Eastern Europe.
Once we got off the Tbilisi airport
after a lengthy flight, we caught a
cab to Borjomi. The roadside was paved
with snow and the view was breath-
taking. I spent most of my time there
outside covered in snowflakes and
smiles. I made my first ever snowman
and I think it's safe to say that I did a
pretty decent job.
Next, we visited Bakuriani, which is a famous skiing destination. I
unfortunately have no career in skiing as my trainer helpfully
pointed out. But don’t let that deter you, my friends - Georgia has
a scenic countryside with friendly people and cosy wayside
restaurants. The Khachapuri and Khinkali are must-have delicacies.
Also be sure to check out the sulphur streams. Ergo, Georgia
definitely deserves a place in your travel bucket list.
