‘The only way to learn mathematics is to do Mathematics.’- PAUL HALMOS
The final round of the Quick Brain Contest, hosted by the Mathematics Department for Class IV students at Indian School Sohar, took place on November 6, 2023. The preliminary round, conducted on October 24, 2023, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of all Class IV students, from where 29 students qualified for the finals. The contest aimed to cultivate interest, strategic competence, and enhance computational skills, fostering improved problem-solving abilities, concentration, and mathematical observance.
Students were challenged to respond promptly within specified time limits, emphasizing the development of computational proficiency and a heightened interest in mathematics. The event sought to equip students with the skills necessary to tackle the mathematical challenges encountered in their daily lives.
Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma, Vice Principal Mr. Yashvir Singh, and AVP & HOD Mathematics Mrs. Indira Sukumaran acknowledged and appreciated the exceptional achievements of the participating students. They extended their heartfelt commendations to the dedicated teacher in charge, Ms. Maneesha P, and Ms. Anila Joby, recognizing their instrumental roles in the success of the event.
The Quick Brain Contest not only showcased the students' mathematical prowess but also exemplified the school's commitment to nurturing a stimulating learning environment, where students can excel in various facets of their academic journey.
