Indian School Sohar girls’ team participated and emerged winner in the 3rd Annual Ladies Cricket Cup 2023 organized by Indian Social Club on 8th Dec. 2023 at Naidul Arabi Grounds, Sallan, Sohar. The tournament, featuring five participating teams, provided a valuable platform for ladies and school girls to exhibit their cricket talents skills and techniques.
The school team defeated Jindal Panther strikers by 6 wickets in a thrilling final match. Ankithaa Sriram was declared Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
Anshita Tiwari and Ankithaa Sriram were declared Player of the Match in semifinal and qualifier 1 respectively.
Sushatihika's superb captaincy, evident in keeping the team's morale high throughout the tournament, contributed significantly to ISS's success. Kamal Gurung, Coach of the winning team expressed his gratitude to Mr. Rajesh Kondala, President ISC, Sohar for offering such a platform, which emphasizes the importance of these events in fostering the growth of cricket among women and girls in Sohar.
The President, members of the School Managing Committee and the Principal congratulated the team and the coach for their fantastic performance and wished to continue their winning strike in future tournaments.
Team comprises of: Yashasvi Jadon,Pavni Verma,Yashaswini Jain,Ashline Rebekah,Supriya Yadav,Blessy Vinod Jeeba, Sushanthika Ashok, Shubrika Singh, Anshita Tiwari ,Ankithaa Sriram and Murugeshwari Vijay.
