WALKATHON - WALK FOR LIFE
11-02-2024
The NATIONAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH organized a Walkathon on Tuesday February 5, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the College of Medicine and Sciences. Indian School Sohar teachers, students and 600 other participants attended the session. Vice Chancellor Mr. Ali al Bimani addressed the gathering on this occasion and urged the citizens to do exercises on a daily basis. The attention of the organization in providing T-shirts and snacks to all the participants as well as in conducting a lucky draw game with rewards and prizes added a positive and engaging element to the Walkathon.
This initiative is designed to promote healthy lifestyles and create awareness regarding the prevention of metabolic syndrome – a constellation of conditions associated with an elevated risk of heart disease, diabetes and stroke. The involvement of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth underscores the societal importance of such initiatives. Overall, the Walkathon appears to have been a well-rounded and impactful event.
