The CBSE Oman Cluster Basketball Competition, organized by ISWK on September 10th and 11th September 2024, witnessed remarkable performances from our U-14 and U-17 girls’ teams.
The U-17 Girls’ team defeated Indian School Darsait in the finals and qualified for the CBSE National Basketball Competition, scheduled to be held from October 9th to October 13th, 2024, at Golden International School, CAT Road, Indore, MP, India. This is the first time Indian School Sohar has clinched the winners' trophy, showcasing excellent teamwork, coordination, and skills. Captain, Sarisha Gupta of Class X led the team and their achievement marked a maiden championship for the school.
Competing for the first time, the U-14 girls’ team secured the silver medal after a thrilling final against ISWK. Sanchi Singh of Class VIII captained the team. Their impressive performance is a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Despite their valiant efforts, the U-19 Boys team was ultimately bested by ISD. The teams were expertly coached by Kamal Gurung, HOD P.E. whose remarkable coaching skills were instrumental in their success.
Team managers, Ms. Priti Vyas and Ms. Deeshita Dave provided continuous motivation and support throughout the competition.
Ms. Sanchita Verma, Principal extended heartfelt congratulations to the players, managers, and coach for their extraordinary performance at the cluster level. She also commended the PE department for their dedication and hard work, which played a crucial role in achieving this fantastic win.
