The CBSE National Athletics Meet was organized by Sant Atulanand Convent School, Koirajpur, Harahua, Varanasi, U.P., India from October 6 to 10, featuring over 1,000 schools and 3,000 athletes from India and Gulf Countries. On the basis of Oman Athletics Cluster Meet 2024 two students of Indian School Sohar was qualified for the National Meet.
Nithin Gladson Gomez (XII C) competed in 5000 m and Alan K. Biju (XII A) took part in triple jump. Both athletes gave their best, achieving personal best performances in their events. The team was accompanied by Mr. Kamal Gurung, the Head of the Physical Education department.
The CBSE National Athletics Meet plays a crucial role in developing athletic skills among students and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. It highlights the importance of sports in education and the potential of young athletes. This experience will undoubtedly help in their future for making them good athletes and also helpful in making better training plans for upcoming competitions.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma congratulated the students on their dedication and performance, emphasizing that the meet was a valuable learning experience for both athletes.
