Indian School Sohar celebrated Diwali on Sunday, 3rd November, 2024 by organizing a vibrant and meaningful Diwali Special Assembly for all classes. The event aimed to celebrate Diwali's richness, encouraging students to reflect on the festival's deeper significance.

The assembly commenced with a soulful Prayer Song, setting a peaceful and auspicious tone. This was followed by the Thought for the Day, inspiring everyone to embrace positivity and unity. The little ones from KG to Class II, brought vibrant energy to the event with a delightful Punjabi dance, capturing the spirit of celebration and happiness that Diwali brings.

Next, the students of Classes III – V, dressed in colorful traditional attire sang a song on the occasion, which highlighted the joy of the festive season, spreading cheer and embodying the spirit of Diwali.

Parth Gupta of Class XI A presented a PowerPoint presentation on Diwali, covering its importance, and the various ways it is celebrated across India. The presentation provided insights into the festival's significance and how it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.

Adding to the festive spirit, students from Classes VI to VIII performed a graceful dance with lamps, symbolizing the lighting of lamps and dispelling darkness with their expressive movements.

The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma addressed the gathering, sharing the true meaning of Diwali. She urged students to brighten up the lives of others and foster harmony. She emphasized that Diwali is not only about cleaning homes but also about purifying the mind and soul. The message encouraged everyone to strive for inner peace and to live with a sense of purpose, kindness, and understanding.

This special assembly reminded everyone that Diwali is a time for self-reflection, compassion, and spreading happiness. The festival encourages everyone to dispel ignorance with knowledge, replace bitterness with love and to live in harmony with all. Diwali is about illuminating minds and hearts, spreading joy and positivity everywhere.

The assembly concluded on a patriotic note as students sang the National Anthem, honoring the nation and fostering a sense of unity and respect. This marked the perfect end to a meaningful and joyous Diwali celebration, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and togetherness.
