ENGLISH POEM RECITATION COMPETITION CLASSES I AND II

15-05-2024

“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.” - Robert Frost

Poem recitation is a form of literary expression where emotions and ideas are conveyed through distinctive style, rhythm, and the artistic use of language. Engaging in recitation from an early age is invaluable for children. It not only helps to enhance reading and memorization skills but also expands vocabulary and builds phonemic awareness, laying a strong foundation for reading abilities. Furthermore, it provides a platform for self-expression and boosts learners' confidence in public speaking.

To nurture the confidence and literary skills of students, an 'English Poem Recitation Competition' was held on May 5th and 6th, 2024, for students of Classes I and II, respectively. This event provided our budding students with an opportunity to broaden their horizons and explore the beauty of the English language through poetry.

The competition was coordinated by Ms. Sweety Sinha and Ms. Sonal H. Ramaiya. Through this event, our students were encouraged to embrace poetry as a means of artistic expression and communication, fostering a love for language and literature from an early age. It was indeed amazing to see our little enthusiasts exhibit self-confidence.

The competition was judged by Ms. Pragnya Mohanty, Ms. Saima Ahmad and Ms. Dishita Dave. The following students emerged as winners amidst tough competition with fellow participants.
