Rabindranath Tagore was a poet, novelist, theorist, painter and music composer, whose verses illuminate the path of wisdom with the radiant light of poetic genius.

On May 9, 2024, the students of Class IV B of Indian School Sohar conducted a special assembly to observe the163rd birth anniversary of the first Indian Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, and show our profound gratitude and admiration for his monumental contributions. The assembly was coordinated by Ms. Sreesha Raghavan.

The assembly commenced with a moving prayer song and a floral tribute to Rabindranath Tagore's portrait by Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma, Vice-Principal Mr. Yashvir Singh, Assistant Vice-Principal Ms. Indira Sukumaran and Supervisor Dr. Alka Singh.

Following a motivational quote from Rabindranath Tagore, the latest news headlines and birthday wishes were communicated.

The audience were enthralled by a riveting rendition of Rabindranath Tagore’s song ‘Phuley Phuley Bole Bole.’

A captivating visual display on the significant contributions of Rabindranath Tagore was exhibited.

The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, appreciated the efforts in conducting the assembly and stressed the need to imbibe the educational principles and values of Rabindranath Tagore.

The assembly concluded with the national anthem of India.

The assembly served as a platform for learning and reflection, and fostering appreciation for Rabindranath Tagore's contributions to the world of literature and culture.
