The Show and Tell competition is a fun filled valuable opportunity for young minds to express themselves, share their interests and to develop communication skills, social skills and creativity. By presenting an object and speaking about it in front of their peers, students build confidence, enhance public speaking skills and engage in conversations that foster curiosity and empathy.
The Kindergarten section of Indian School Sohar organized ‘Show and Tell’ competition for LKG students on 13th February 2025. A preliminary round was held across all three sections of the LKG class on 10th February 2025, with five students from each section selected for the final round.
The tiny tots participated with great zeal and enthusiasm, presenting a variety of interesting topics such as My winter Vacation, Seasons, Flag, Toys, Water Bottle, Healthy food, Traffic light, Cartoon Character Shin-Chan, etc. They articulated their thoughts confidently in an impressive manner.
The competition was coordinated by Ms Greta D'souza, with the judging panel comprising of Ms. Sherly Joseph, Ms. Prajitha Sunil and Ms. Alma Joseph. The presentations were truly remarkable and the judges appreciated the enthusiasm and creativity of the students. They commented on the effort put into the presentations which sparked curiosity and joy, and demonstrated confidence and poise, turning what could have been a simple sharing of objects into engaging narratives that captivated all.
The process of preparing for the “Show and Tell” competition encouraged LKG students to reflect on the importance of a special item and appreciate its significance in different ways. Through this competition, the budding stars not only enhanced their vocabulary but also gained a significant boost in confidence, emerging as more confident speakers.
