CLASSROOM CHAMPIONS TURN CRICKET STARS: INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR TEACHERS WIN IMCO TITLE

The staff and the boys’ teams of Indian School Sohar participated in the IMCO Open Day 6-a-side Cricket Tournament, organized by the National University, Sohar at the college playground on April 28, 2025.

The Indian School staff team delivered an outstanding performance, comfortably defeating the UTAS Shinas in the finals. The teachers showcased their exceptional skills in bowling, batting, and fielding. Led by Captain Sachin Ali, the team demonstrated remarkable unity, determination, and teamwork. Every player gave their best, contributing to a well-deserved victory.

The match witnessed impressive and disciplined bowling performances by Sanjeev Kumar, Niyas Ali, Sachin Ali, Sudarshan Gupta and Kannan R. Kumaran.

Sanjeev Kumar, Sachin Ali and Sudarshan Gupta displayed fantastic batting skills throughout the tournament, playing key roles in securing the team’s success.

The boys’ team also showed commendable effort, narrowly losing to UTAS Shinas in a competitive match. Despite the result, they demonstrated great spirit, determination, and resilience.

Special credit goes to Mr. Kamal Prasad Gurung, whose guidance and experienced coaching were instrumental in shaping the team's performance. He also appreciated the efforts and hard work of Coach Abdullah Ramis, Mr. Ranjit V, and Mr. Thomas Thangam for organizing the wonderful tournament and providing teachers and students the opportunity to take time out of their busy schedules and enjoy the beautiful game of cricket.

Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma praised the teachers for their tremendous efforts, congratulating each one of them and expressing hope that the same winning spirit would continue in the future. The Principal, along with the staff, also extended heartfelt congratulations to the winning team for their impressive victory and commended both teams for their enthusiastic participation and exemplary sportsmanship.
