HEAT WAVE SAFETY ORIENTATION

15-05-2025

In response to the rising temperatures and the increasing risk of heat-related health issues, Indian School Sohar organized a Heat Wave Safety Orientation for students. The session aimed to educate students on essential precautions to be taken during extreme heat conditions to ensure their health and well-being.

Students were advised to stay adequately hydrated by drinking sufficient water throughout the day. Emphasis was laid on including fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly those with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumber, oranges, and leafy greens, in their daily diet.

The orientation also focused on identifying early signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth, fatigue, dizziness, and reduced urine output. Students were informed about the immediate steps to take if they or their peers exhibited any of these symptoms and were encouraged to promptly report such cases to the school staff.

The session concluded with a reminder to all students to remain vigilant and take personal responsibility for their health during the ongoing heatwave.
