“Show and Tell" is a delightful and engaging activity that gives young learners the chance to express themselves, build self-confidence, and strengthen their communication skills. It serves as an early foundation for public speaking while nurturing creativity, curiosity, and positive social interaction among children.
The Kindergarten section of Indian School Sohar organized a Show and Tell Competition for UKG students on 22nd May 2025, centered around the theme ‘Nature.’ A preliminary round was held across all four sections of UKG on 19th May 2025, and three students from each section were selected for the final round.
Students spoke enthusiastically on a variety of nature-inspired topics such as plants, trees, flowers, earth, fruits, and more, showcasing their love and awareness of the natural world. Each child came prepared with a prop or visual aid and confidently explained its importance in a creative and expressive manner. Their thoughtful and articulate presentations reflected their understanding of nature and the role it plays in our lives.
The competition was coordinated by Ms. Anusha Omar with the judging panel comprising of Ms. Nikku Saira Joji, Ms. Tanuja Kadam, and Ms. Ziyana Sama. The judges were impressed by the poise, clarity, and effort shown by each participant. They appreciated how the children transformed simple ideas into engaging presentations that highlighted both their knowledge and personality.
This activity not only helped the children improve their vocabulary, presentation skills, and self-expression, but also encouraged them to develop an emotional connection with nature. It was a joyful and memorable event that truly celebrated the voice of our young nature lovers.
