Indian School Sohar had the distinguished honour of hosting a prestigious programme organized by the Ministry of Education for private schools on 21st May 2025. The event was attended by over 500 esteemed guests, including Omani educators, school principals, and students from various educational institutions. A highlight of the occasion was the formal recognition and felicitation of eminent Omani teachers for their exemplary contributions to education, as well as the outstanding achievements of their students.
The programme was graced by the distinguished presence of the Chief Guest, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Shahab Al-Balushi, Assistant Wali of Sohar. The event was conducted under the distinguished leadership of Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Ajmi, Assistant Director of Private Schools at the Directorate General of Education in the North Al Batinah Governorate. Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries with a bouquet and led a walkthrough of the school’s achievements through a bilingual Power Point presentation.
A distinguished highlight of the programme was the exemplary participation of students from Omani schools, whose talents were prominently showcased through a series of well-curated music and dance performances. Their contributions were received with widespread acclaim and played a pivotal role in enriching the cultural depth and vibrancy of the event.
Complementing these performances, students from our school presented a traditional colourful Garba dance, which captivated the audience and was received with great admiration. This cultural segment strengthened the bonds of friendship between India and Oman and promoted cultural exchange.
The programme served as a significant conduit for strengthening relationships, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and advancing collaborative engagement within the educational sector. Furthermore, it afforded Omani educators a meaningful opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the academic ethos and institutional environment of Indian School Sohar.
