Indian School Sohar conducted an intensive professional development program from May 15th to 18th, 2025, to enhance teachers’ expertise in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Teachers from both the Computer Science and Science departments participated in the training, which was facilitated by Mr. Nikesh Sharma of STEMROBO Technologies Pvt Ltd, India. The program combined pedagogical strategies with hands-on experience using advanced educational technologies.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Deepa Dinesh, HoD, Computer Science, followed by an inaugural address by Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, who emphasized the importance of blending technology with Science education for future-ready learning. Teachers received orientation on lab setup, curriculum, and digital platforms like STEMROBO Learn LMS and AI Connect for effective AI tool integration.
Participants progressed from basic robotics kits to advanced topics including mechatronics, circuit design via Tinkercad, IoT applications, Arduino programming, introductory Python for AI, and hands-on training with 3D printers and drones. Collaborative problem-solving and design thinking were key focuses throughout the sessions.
Overall, it was a great learning experience that significantly enriched the educators’ skills and preparedness for twenty-first-century classrooms.
