The final round of the Quick Brain Contest, organized by the Mathematics Department for Class IV students at Indian School Sohar, was held on November 13, 2024. The preliminary round, conducted on November 5, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from all Class IV students, with 12 students advancing to the finals. The contest aimed to spark interest in Mathematics, develop strategic thinking, and improve computational skills, ultimately enhancing problem-solving abilities, focus, and Mathematical observation.
The final quiz consisted of three rounds: the Puzzle Round, the Rapid Solving Round, and the Buzzer Round. Students were tasked with answering questions within strict time limits, sharpening their computational proficiency and fostering a deeper interest in Mathematics. The competition aimed to equip students with the skills needed to tackle everyday Mathematical challenges.
The Buzzer Round added an exciting finish to the event, with participants eagerly pressing the buzzers to answer questions in a race against the clock.
The audience also played an active role, adding vibrancy to the event. An 'Audience Round' was held, allowing audience to answer questions and win prizes.
Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, AVP & Head of the Mathematics Department, Mrs. Indira Sukumaran and Supervisor, Dr. Alka Singh, praised the outstanding achievements of the students. They also expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the teacher in charge, Ms. Lubna Siddiqi, Ms. Alice K Thomas and Ms. Sunitha Harikrishnan, whose contributions were key to the event's success.
The Quick Brain Contest not only highlighted the Mathematical talent of the students but also underscored the school's dedication to creating a dynamic learning environment where students can thrive in various aspects of their academic journey.
