Indian School Sohar participated in the highly competitive Inter-School Basketball Tournament held at Al Batinah International School, Sohar on 12th and 13th November 2024. The event brought together teams from various schools in Sohar, competing across both junior and senior categories for boys and girls.
In the Junior Girls' category, the Indian School Sohar team, led by Captain Himanaya, emerged victorious, securing 1st place with an outstanding performance. Meanwhile, the Senior Boys' and Girls' teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, earning the runners-up title.
The Junior Boys' team also fought valiantly in a tough contest, ultimately securing 3rd place in a closely contested match.
The teams were coached by Mr. Kamal Prasad Gurung, Head of the Physical Education Department, who praised the initiative taken by ABIS School for organizing such a well-structured event. He emphasized that it provided an excellent platform for young basketball players in Sohar to gain valuable experience. The team was well-supported by Mr. Niyas Ali, the team manager, throughout the tournament.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma extended heartfelt congratulations to the teams, commending their sportsmanship, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

Junior Boys Team: Abhinav Hareesh (Captain), Akshay Sharma, Indraneel Nair, Soham Bhattacharya, Mirsab Hubaise, Tarang Pal, Visharad Khare, Kartik Mishra, Abhinav Jithish, Mukundh Vardhan.
Senior Girls Team: Shauna Ryona Raj (Captain), Kanishka Sriram, Venya Khare, Yetika Taunk, Anjali P. Nair, Josna Jose, Butool Mahdi Zaidi, Hania Abdul Samad, Hiranmayi Rajesh, Anushka Srivastava.
Senior Boys Team: Ashwin Armstrong Claret Xavier (Captain), Tanmaya Kumawat, Lakshya Pillladi, Pravir Prabhat Rao Korenga, Abinav Krishnan Suresh, Bhaavik Saibhuvis, Naman Bhattacharya, Royden Goveas, Sneh Tapaniya.
