Indian School Sohar celebrated the 54th Oman National Day with great enthusiasm and fervour to pay reverence to its second home, Oman. The whole school wore a festive look in Oman colours.
The special morning assembly began with the prayer song, followed by the thought for the day. The song by the school choir expressed the friendly relationships between India and Oman.
The assembly proceedings were conducted in Arabic.
The demonstration on the famous Omani product “Bakhoor” depicted the importance of fragrance in the culture of Omani citizens. The beautiful and serene Oman with its natural beauty was showcased through a video presentation captured the attention of the spectators.
Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma addressed the gathering with warm congratulations to the people of this welcoming nation, which has become a second home to many Indians. She conveyed her heartfelt best wishes to the visionary leader, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, on behalf of Indian School Sohar, and prayed for his good health and happiness.
She also expressed her appreciation to the Omani staff of Indian School Sohar for their exceptional cooperation, continuous growth and adaptability, which have been vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the school. In her address, she encouraged the students to contribute to the welfare of their second home by actively participating in community service and helping to maintain a clean and green environment.
