SCIENCE POEM RECITATION COMPETITION FOR CLASSES III & IV

16-12-2024

"Poetry is the art of creating images with words; Science is the poetry of exploring the universe with reason."

Science is creative, inspires curiosity and fosters an attitude of exploration. Integrating the precision of science with the artistic flair of poetry creates a vibrant synergy that sparks wonder and fosters a deeper connection to learning in the young, imaginative mind. To evoke curiosity in young minds about the scientific facts of the natural world around them, the Department of Science organised a Science Poem Recitation Competition for Classes III and IV on 5th December 2024 in the school auditorium, under the guidance of our Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, and Supervisor, Dr. Alka Singh. The event was coordinated by Ms. Smitha. PG and Ms. Kavitha Thankachan.

The competition was an endeavour to create a competitive spirit among children and explore their potential to think scientifically. The preliminary round was conducted on 27th & 28th November 2024 by the respective EVS teachers.

The event began with a prayer song, after which the Section Supervisor, Dr. Alka Singh addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of science in daily life and cultivating the habit of scientific thinking in children and extended a warm welcome to the judging panel and the audience.

The young students recited the poems with confidence and enthusiasm which was highly appreciated by all. Their performance was evaluated by a panel of expert judges: Jomol A. Chacko, Sabira Seni, and Zeema Viswanathan. After insightful feedback from the judges, Ms. Smitha P.G. proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants.

The Section Supervisor announced the results, congratulated the winners and appreciated all participants. The Vice Principal, Mr. Yashvir Singh, and the Assistant Vice Principal, Ms. Indira Sukumaran, applauded the students for their exceptional performances and dedication.
