Physical Education Department at ISS along with the Alumni Association, AISSA, organized an exciting friendly football match on 17th December 2024, on its premises, where the current school team faced off against the alumni team in a spirited and enjoyable game. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, who motivated all the players to embody the spirit of true sportsmanship. She marked the official start of the match with the first kick, signaling the beginning of an exhilarating competition.
The alumni team emerged victorious, securing a 3-1 win against the current school team. Despite the loss, the match was an enriching experience for the students, offering them a chance to witness high-level gameplay and gain valuable competitive exposure. This match was not only a sporting event but also a moment of reconnection. Alumni members had the opportunity to reunite with former teachers and staff, while also seeing firsthand the various developments the school had undergone over the years.
The match served a dual purpose. It fostered camaraderie and strengthened bonds between the alumni and the current students. On the other hand, it provided the school team with much-needed experience, preparing them for the upcoming tournaments. The students in the stands cheered on both teams with great enthusiasm, making the atmosphere even more vibrant.
Mr. Nikhil More and Mr. Niyas Ali officiated the game, ensuring smooth and fair play throughout the match. The teams were introduced by Mr. Kamal Gurung, the Head of the Physical Education Department (HOD), to the Principal, Vice Principal, Assistant Vice- Principal, and Heads of Departments, creating a sense of unity and excitement among everyone present.
