The Indian School Sohar Basketball team achieved remarkable success at the Suhar Festival’s vibrant sports tournaments held in Oman’s North Batinah Governorate. Organized in collaboration with Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel, the event was a standout celebration of youth sports. Junior Girls Basketball team of Indian School Sohar emerged victorious, clinching the Jindal Panther Basketball Girls Championship, while the junior boys secured a commendable third place. The tournament, which kicked off on December 22 at the Al Salam Club - Liwa Branch, was a thrilling competition that highlighted the talent and determination of young athletes in the region. This exciting tournament, open to public and private school students, followed a knockout format and spanned five thrilling days. Notably, it was the first of its kind in the region to feature both boys' and girls' categories, showcasing a strong commitment to inclusivity in sports. With participation from 29 boys' schools and 24 girls' schools, the event saw the involvement of over 300 young athletes, fostering a sense of passion, competition, and camaraderie among participants.
Mr. Niyas Ali and Ms. Murugeswari Vijay, teachers in-charge guided the teams and provided valuable advice throughout the tournament.
The President, Members of the School Management Committee, Principal and Staff congratulated the teams for their outstanding achievements in the tournament, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
