INDIA’S 76th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

India’s 76th Republic Day celebration at Indian School Sohar was a vibrant and grand event, marked by unity, patriotism, and pride. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest, Mr. Abraham George, President of the School Managing Committee. The other guests for the occasion included Mr. Ajay Damani, Treasurer of the School Managing Committee; Mr. Amit Shah, a member of the School Managing Committee; and Mr. Ahmed Al Hosani and Mr. Youssef Al-Kamshki, Supervisors from the Department for Private Schools, Ministry of Education, North Al Batinah. This celebration was a true testament to the spirit of Republic Day, inspiring all to strive for a brighter and stronger India.

The celebration unfolded a heartfelt rendition of the national song ‘Vande Mataram,’ followed by an exuberant dance performance by the students to ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti,’ celebrating the richness of India’s soil. The event also featured inspiring speeches by the Chief Guest, Mr. Abraham George, and Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, instilling patriotism and pride among the attendees.

The event also featured a video presentation on community-driven initiatives and the Constitution song performed by the school choir to honour Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy. The celebration also included a spectacular performance, ‘Pyara Tiranga,’ honouring the Indian national flag. Adding further grandeur, the teachers adorned in vibrant costumes representing various states, showcased India’s cultural diversity through their song performance of ‘Alive India’.

The grand finale included a high-energy patriotic mash-up dance that showcased the vibrant spirit of the students. Gratitude was expressed to all contributors, including the management, staff, students, parents, and volunteers. A notable highlight was the announcement of the inauguration of the new school canteen, marking a step towards better facilities. The day’s events beautifully embodied the spirit of Republic Day, reinforcing the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, and leaving everyone inspired to uphold these values in their lives.
