The BYOB, ‘Bring Your Own Bottle ’ campaign was organised by the Green Gyan Eco Club of Indian School Sohar in August 2025, aiming to increase awareness among the sstaff and students of the school and encourage sustainable practices on the school campus.
The BYOB Campaign promoted sustainable practices by reducing single-use plastic bottles. Students were encouraged to carry their own reusable water bottles. To create awareness, students of Classes KG–V designed colourful placards with slogans and drawings, which were displayed in all the classes. These placards served as reminders of the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the benefits of eco-friendly alternatives.
Ms. Sanchita Verma, the Principal, enforced the idea during the recent Professional Development Programmes held in the school, where reusable water bottle was distributed for the teachers. She even highlighted the environmental benefits and drawbacks of single use plastic bottles to the students and appreciated the parents for helping them in designing their placards with strong messages on them, and the team for organising the campaign. She also honoured the efforts of Green Gyan Eco Club in this venture.
Coordinator Ms. Saima Ahmad, and Section Coordinator Ms. Michelle R Lee appreciated enthusiasm of the volunteers towards this advantageous campaign with long lasting impact.
The BYOB campaign received a positive response from the school staff members.
