A Professional Development Programme was conducted on 20th September 2025 at Indian School Sohar on the theme “Leadership and Managerial Skills”. The session was attended by teachers from Indian School Buraimi, Indian School Muladha, Indian School Rustaq, and Indian School Sohar.
The programme was facilitated by Ms. Dhanya Pradeep, Assistant Vice Principal (Middle Section), Indian School Al Maabela, and Ms. Neethu Chandran, Assistant Vice Principal (Primary Section), Indian School Al Maabela.
The resource persons engaged the participants through a variety of interactive activities that focused on different leadership styles. Special emphasis was placed on Teacher Leadership, encouraging self-awareness and reflection among participants. A leadership quiz was also conducted to reinforce the concepts discussed.
The session highlighted the importance of building leadership capacities in others, with the core message that “leadership is not about creating followers, but about creating more leaders”.
The programme proved to be an enriching experience, equipping teachers with valuable insights into leadership and managerial skills that can be applied both in classrooms and in wider school contexts.
Ms. Sanchita Verma, Principal of Indian School Sohar, expressed her gratitude to the resource persons for their insightful session and also extended thanks to the Board of Directors for organizing such professional development opportunities.
