A Professional Development Programme on the topic Students’ Discipline was conducted on 27th September 2025 at Indian School Sohar, attended by the teachers of the school. The Resource Person was Mr. Pradeep Ramaswamy, TGT Malayalam at Indian School Al Maabela.
Through interactive discussions and activities, he emphasized that discipline is not merely about following rules but about developing self-control, responsibility, respect, and time management. He highlighted the importance of discipline as the foundation of effective learning and guided teachers on practical strategies to promote positive discipline in classrooms, addressing both its importance and the challenges of maintaining it.
The session defined discipline as training oneself to obey rules, follow a code of conduct, or adhere to standards, while also developing self-control and consistency in working towards goals. It was further explained that discipline can refer to a specific field of study or a system of rules and regulations. The Resource Person also stressed how discipline enables students to focus better, improve academic performance, and grow into responsible citizens.
The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, thanked Mr. Pradeep for his valuable insights and expressed gratitude to the Board of Directors for organizing such beneficial programmes for teachers’ professional growth. The session concluded with a collective commitment by teachers to implement the shared strategies, ensuring a disciplined and positive learning environment for students.
