Indian School Sohar celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) on 28th October 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India.” The occasion served as a tribute to his remarkable efforts in uniting the princely states and laying the foundation of a strong and integrated nation.
The programme commenced with a special class assembly conducted by the students of respective classes. The assembly began with a Thought for the Day emphasizing the value of unity, followed by a speech highlighting the life, vision, and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards national integration.
As a mark of reverence, the Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, along with the Vice Principal and the Assistant Vice Principal, offered a floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, honouring his invaluable contribution to the unity and integrity of the nation.
To commemorate the occasion, students enthusiastically participated in various activities such as poster-making, poem recitation on national unity, and dressing up in diverse traditional Indian costumes, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity of the nation. A special video presentation depicting the life and times of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also shown to help students gain deeper insights into his visionary leadership and immense contribution to the nation.
The observance of National Unity Day at Indian School Sohar successfully fostered a spirit of patriotism and strengthened students’ understanding of the importance of unity, harmony, and national integrity.
