Suraksha Safety Club of Indian School Sohar organized a Safety Awareness Programme for private bus drivers on 29th October 2025. Forty-two private bus drivers and Safety Club: members actively participated in the programme.
The session began with a welcome address by the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma. In her address, she emphasized the crucial role bus drivers play in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their commute. Every driver must maintain discipline, patience, and alertness at all times. She requested all drivers not to use mobile phones while driving, as it causes distraction and endangers lives.
Mr. Humaid Khamis Al Maqbali, Member of the Safety Club, briefed the participants about safety regulations and the necessary precautions to ensure secure transportation for students.
The Principal concluded by appreciating the efforts of all drivers and reminding them that their responsibility extends beyond transportation-they are guardians of students' safety during every journey.
The programme ended with an interactive session, allowing drivers to share their experiences and clarify safety-related concerns.
