A seminar on “Recognizing Developmental Concerns in Children: Guidelines for Educators” was conducted on 24th September 2025 by Ms. Anu Sonia, Counsellor and Ms. Ziyana Sama , Special Educator for primary teachers (KG to Grade 2).
The aim of the session was to help teachers understand early signs of developmental difficulties in young learners and strengthen their ability to make informed classroom observations.
The session covered common developmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disability, explaining their key symptoms, behavioural indicators, and classroom red flags. Case discussions were included to make the content practical and relatable, and teachers received a detailed handout summarizing symptoms. The session also highlighted the importance of early identification and timely referral for effective intervention.
Teachers shared positive feedback, stating that the session was very useful, informative, and essential for all educators working with early-years children.
The seminar successfully enhanced teachers awareness and confidence in recognizing developmental concerns, contributing to early support and improved student outcomes.
