12-06-2025

On 1st June 2025, the Nursery and Kindergarten section of Indian School Sohar celebrated Yellow Colour Day, a fun and educational event designed to introduce children to the vibrant colour yellow.

Known for its association with happiness, optimism, and energy, yellow is a colour that stimulates mental activity and encourages communication, making it an ideal colour for fostering creativity and engagement among young learners. It is believed to enhance concentration and memory, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Yellow is often linked to the sun, warmth and positivity, making it an ideal theme for summer celebration. This natural connection enhanced the theme of the day.

The primary objective of the Yellow Colour Day celebration was to engage the children in a fun, creative, and educational experience centered around the colour yellow. The event aimed to enhance the children's fine motor skills, creativity, and understanding of the colour yellow through hands-on activities and crafts.

The Nursery children participated in a delightful paper crumbling activity. They were provided with yellow paper, which they crumpled to paste on corn shaped template. This activity helped the children practice their fine motor skills, eye - hand coordination and creativity.

The LKG children created a bright and cheerful sun using paper. They cut yellow paper into circles and attached rays around the edges to form a sun. This activity helped them develop their fine motor skills through cutting and gluing, while also teaching them about the significance of the sun and its connection to the colour yellow.

Meanwhile the UKG children worked on a more intricate craft, creating pineapples using rolled paper strips. They carefully rolled strips of yellow paper and glued them onto a pineapple template and created their own pineapples. Through this activity, children strengthened their fine motor skills, creativity, and understanding of tropical fruits while reinforcing the connection between the colour yellow and summer.

Overall, Yellow Colour Day celebration was a resounding success, offering a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore their creativity while learning about the colour yellow and its associations with sunshine, summer, and positivity. The children not only engaged in fun, hands-on activities but also gained an appreciation for how colours can influence mood and learning.
