"Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?" These profound words by Mahatma Gandhi encapsulate the essence of independence and liberty—values that are truly invaluable. This sentiment resonated vibrantly during the Independence Day Celebration at Indian School Sohar, where the exuberance and pride of the students shone brightly. The event commemorated this historic occasion, marking the day when India broke free from the bonds of British rule, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and enthusiasm that reflected the spirit of the nation. The gathering was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Abraham George, President of the School Managing Committee, along with fellow SMC members Mr. Ajay Damani, Mr. Amit Shah and Mr. Naveen Kumar. They were graciously escorted to the stage by the Principal, Vice-Principal, and Assistant Vice-Principal, adding a touch of formality and dignity to the celebrations.

The Principal extended a warm welcome to the gathering and eloquently reminded everyone that freedom was not solely won through battles, but through the profound contributions of writers, artists, and creative minds. They illustrated the notion that the pen can indeed be mightier than the sword, emphasizing the powerful resonance of words beyond the reach of any weapon. She encouraged each individual to recognize their unique role in the nation's progress and urged them to harness their talents in the pursuit of a brighter future.

The Middle School Choir set the tone for the programme with a stirring rendition of the patriotic song "Tujhe Namami Ho." The melodious performance emanated from the proud hearts of the young children, leaving every member of the audience filled with a sense of patriotism as they were transported through the beautiful landscapes of our beloved Janma Bhoomi, experiencing a soothing connection to their roots. This enchanting song ignited a deep love and honor for the country within the hearts of everyone present. Following this, the audience was treated to an unforgettable performance of "Mera Bharat Meri Shan." Each choreographed step resonated with pride, reminding us of our shared heritage and the strength found in unity. The electrifying rendition of the action song "Bharat Pyara Desh Hamara" beautifully captured the essence of our motherland, highlighting both our unity and the indomitable spirit of our people.

The patriotic group song "Jaga Hindustan" served as a clarion call, awakening the spirit of India and inspiring all to rise from complacency and embrace their full potential. The skit "Shakti Behind the Struggle" celebrated the extraordinary efforts of women who played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the nation. These resilient individuals stood firm against oppression, emerging as warriors of hope and change. The stories of the “naarishakti” will undoubtedly inspire generations to come. The grand finale was a breathtaking dance performance set to the iconic song “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara,” profoundly capturing the essence of unity in diversity that is quintessential to India. The celebration left everyone with a renewed sense of pride and commitment to the nation.

The President of SMC Mr. Abraham George, after expressing gratitude to the generous and broad-minded Sultan and the Govt. of this country which hosts us, paid tribute to those who sacrificed their life for the freedom we enjoy today. He thanked the soldiers who defend our nation from aggression and guard from enemies. The anchors, Tanmaya Kumavat and Advika Ray brought forth energy and enthusiasm that truly captured the spirit of the celebration! Their vibrant personalities and smooth transitions kept the audience engaged throughout the event.

The programme culminated with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. With freedom in the hearts, faith in words, and pride in souls, everyone saluted our nation on this auspicious day. It was a celebration dedicated to fostering love and respect for our country—a reminder for each of us to strive towards making India a better place for everyone, where we can all experience freedom, peace, and unity in diversity.
