The CBSE Oman Cluster Basketball Tournament 2025-26 was held on August 9th and 10th, 2025, at Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir. This highly anticipated event showcased the exceptional talents of young athletes from various schools across the region, featuring both boys' and girls' competitions in multiple age categories. Indian School Sohar demonstrated remarkable performance throughout the tournament, securing impressive positions in multiple age groups.
The U-17 Girls Team, captained by Sarisha Gupta, displayed incredible determination and teamwork, earning the runner-up title. The final match was a fiercely contested battle in which inspiring leadership of Sarisha played a pivotal role in guiding her team through challenging moments. Other talented members of the team included Vice-Captain Neha Antala, Yetika Taunk, Sanchi Singh, Hiranmayi Rajesh, Kanishka Sriram, Shauna Ryona Raj, Dakshina Dinesh, Shreya Vivek Pachat, Aarna Sakharkar Rajesh, and Ananya Milnd Kulkarni.
The U-19 Boys Team, led by Captain Lakshya Pilladi, secured a commendable third place through a cohesive team effort. Akshay Sharma emerged as a standout player, showcasing exceptional shooting skills by sinking crucial three-pointers at critical moments. The team also included Vice-Captain Naman Bhattacharya, along with Royden Goveas, Bhaavik Saibhuvis, Abhinav Hareesh, Madhav R Nair, and Tanmaya Kumawat.
The U-14 Boys Team, captained by Tarang Kumar Pal, also achieved a noteworthy third-place finish, demonstrating excellent coordination and resilience on the court. The team comprised Vice-Captain Soham Bhattacharya, Adiraju Veerabhadra Eswara Prateek, Moksh Kundi, Trishank Lanka, P Mukundh Vardhan, Atharv Shetty, and Yohaan Joseph Koshy.
All teams were expertly guided by Coach Mr. Kamal P. Gurung, whose strategic planning and motivational techniques significantly contributed to the athletes' performance. He received invaluable support from Team Managers Mr. Sachin Ali and Ms. Priti Vyas, who ensured that the teams were well-managed throughout the tournament.
Principal Ms. Sanchita Verma extended her heartfelt congratulations to all players, the coach, and the team managers for their hard work and achievements, expressing optimism for continued success in future tournaments. Additionally, the President and members of the School Management Committee (SMC), along with the staff of Indian School Sohar, joined in congratulating the teams for their outstanding accomplishments.
