“Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next”

Enthusiasm and festivity marked the celebrations at Indian School Sohar on Teachers’ Day. The   students put their best foot forward to pay rich tributes to the great visionary Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, the President of India and above all, a teacher.

The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The students did all the preparations with complete energy and excitement. Various cultural programmes were presented by them to show their love and respect for their teachers.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Sanchita Verma said, “I thank the almighty for granting us a chance to be a teacher, as there can be no greater calling than to facilitate thinking, engage young minds, and still have opportunity to learn.

Teachers’ Day is the best occasion to extend our sincere gratitude to all the teachers, for not only teaching us but being true mentors and role models. There is no doubt about the fact that it takes an incredible amount of dedication, knowledge and patience to teach a class, full of present day students, who are sharp and inquisitive and that type of responsibility and commitment, makes our  teachers real heroes on a daily basis,” said one of the student.

To honour and acknowledge the hard work of the teachers, the School Managing Committee organized a party for the teachers with their families at Crown Plaza. Abraham George, Member SMC, said, “We acknowledge the role and importance of the family members as without their support it would not be possible for the staff to work with such devotion and dedication.”

Various games were organized for the teachers, followed by a cultural program which consisted of a vibrant array of performances. All the faculty members were then presented with a memento as a token of appreciation for their hard work, constructive support and contribution in the field of education.

The staff thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations and was proud of their calling. The beautiful ambience added to the festive spirit. Thus overall the event was a great success.
