INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR: ‘FIN FLYERS’ SECURE GOLDEN SUCCESS AT CBSE OMAN CLUSTER SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP

The talented swimmers of Indian School Sohar made a remarkable start to their swimming campaign by securing an impressive tally of 15 medals - 9 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze at the prestigious CBSE Oman Cluster Swimming Championship 2026–27 held at Ibra Sports Complex on 7 May 2026.

The championship brought together talented swimmers from various Indian schools across the Sultanate of Oman and witnessed thrilling performances marked by determination, stamina, discipline, and outstanding sportsmanship.

The President, Members of the School Management Committee, Principal, and staff congratulated the swimmers for their commendable achievements. Special appreciation was extended to the Coach, Nikhil More and Team Manager, Sanjeev Kumar for their tireless efforts, dedication, and guidance.

Shruthikaa Senthilkumar, Vikram Senthilkumar, Varun Balakrishnan, and Utkarsha V. have qualified for the prestigious CBSE National Swimming Championship 2026. The championship is scheduled to be held at Technocrats International School for boys and The Oriental Public School for girls in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. This achievement provides the young swimmers with an excellent platform to compete at the national level and showcase their talent on a bigger stage.

Individual Achievements:

Shruthikaa Senthilkumar of Class X F, competing in the U-17 Girls’ category, secured gold medals in 50 m Butterfly, 100 m Butterfly, 50 m Breaststroke, 200 m Freestyle, and 400 m Freestyle.

Vikram Senthilkumar of Class VIII B, competing in the U-14 Boys’ category, secured gold medals in 50 m Breaststroke, 100 m Breaststroke, 200 m Breaststroke, and 50 m Butterfly.

Varun Balakrishnan of Class IX C, competing in the U-17 Boys’ category, secured silver medals in 100 m Butterfly and 50 m Backstroke, along with a bronze medal in 50 m Butterfly.

Utkarsha V. of Class IV G, competing in the U-11 Girls’ category, secured a silver medal in 50 m Butterfly and a bronze medal in 50 m Breaststroke.

Areev Singh Verma of Class VII C, competing in the U-14 Boys’ category, secured a bronze medal in the 200 m Backstroke.
