The students of Indian School Sohar proudly participated in the STEM Project Exhibition organized by the International Maritime College, Oman (IMCO) on 28 April 2026. This prestigious exhibition provided a premier platform for young innovators to showcase their creative ideas and scientific talents across various technical fields.
Developed under the expert guidance of the Head of Department of Computer Science, Ms. Deepa Dinesh, and teachers-in-charge Ms. Sudha Pitchiah and Mr. Kannan Ragavan, the school achieved an outstanding 100% qualification rate. All 9 submitted student projects—Clarivana, Solar Power Car, Heliotech, AI-Based Smart Water Usage Monitoring System, AI Smart Home, Industrial Hazard Detection System, Conveyor Belt with Automatic Counting System, Bin Genius, and Biyah—successfully cleared the rigorous selection round to compete in the finals across the bioengineering, renewable energy, robotics, and waste management categories.
The final exhibition day brought immense glory to the school as Arshad Saleem and Samannya Kola of Class XII secured the First Position in the ‘Renewable Energy Solutions’ category for their innovative project, ‘HELIOTECH’. In recognition of their exceptional teamwork and presentation skills, the winning duo received medals, certificates, and prizes. Furthermore, Indian School Sohar was honoured with the prestigious ‘STEM Competition Awards’ shield, celebrating the institution's excellence in fostering problem-solving skills to lead Oman’s industrial future.
Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, whose constant encouragement inspired the students throughout their journey, proudly congratulated the winners and all participating students for bringing laurels to the school through their dedication, innovation, and creativity.
Congratulations to all the participants and winners!
