The Constitution is not just a document—it is the heartbeat of our democracy and the compass that guides our nation.

Indian School Sohar celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on 26 January 2026 with immense patriotic fervor and dignified pride. The occasion marked the historic adoption of the Indian Constitution and reaffirmed India’s identity as a sovereign, democratic republic. The school campus was transformed into a vibrant canvas of the national tricolor, reflecting the values of unity, integrity, and collective national pride.

The celebrations commenced with a ceremonial welcome and guard of honor accorded to the President of the School Managing Committee, Mr. Abraham George, the members of the Committee and other esteemed guests.

The Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, in her thought-provoking address supported by a well-curated video presentation titled “From Constitution to the Classroom: How Republic Day Begins in School,” highlighted the true essence of Republic Day. She remarked, “Republic Day is not just celebrated; it is practiced in every classroom of every school.” She urged teachers and students alike to work conscientiously, collaborate meaningfully, and contribute towards the progress, prosperity, harmony, and peace of the nation.

The cultural program unfolded through a series of thoughtfully orchestrated performances, celebrating India’s rich heritage, diversity, and democratic ideals. The school choir enthralled the audience with a soulful medley of patriotic songs, opening with the stirring number “Rise Up India,” a musical roadmap envisioning India’s journey toward development as it approaches 100 years of independence in 2047. This performance inspired a profound sense of national pride and commitment. It was followed by a powerful mime, “Silent Tribute to the Indian Army,” which conveyed its poignant message through expressive silence, honoring the courage, resilience, and selfless sacrifice of the nation’s defenders.

A harmonious group song, “Together in Melody,” beautifully showcased the spirit of Unity in Diversity, while the youngest performers charmed the audience with the energetic action song and dance, “Ye Bharat Desh Hai Mera,” radiating innocence and patriotic pride. The Grand Finale, a visually stunning shadow dance titled “Shadows That Sing the Nation,” paid tribute to 150 years of the immortal anthem “Vande Mataram,” bringing the nation’s journey, ideals, and enduring spirit to life.

Adding to the grandeur, the teachers presented a patriotic medley, reflecting deep devotion and enthusiasm, while a thematic dance, blending poetry and movement, offered a poignant visual narrative of India’s evolution, progress, and enduring legacy, leaving the audience inspired and filled with patriotic fervor.

The event was skillfully anchored in both English and Hindi by Nalini Baburaj, Joel Joshy, Alia Maryam, and Hitarth Datwani, who successfully captured the spirit of Republic Day and instilled a deep sense of patriotism among all attendees.

The program concluded with the resonating notes of the Indian National Anthem, leaving the audience filled with patriotic fervor and a profound sense of pride, and receiving their heartfelt praise for the memorable celebration.
