STORY TELLING COMPETITION FOR UKG

19-02-2026

Storytelling is the most powerful way to plant seeds of imagination and wisdom in young minds. It plays a vital role in early childhood development enhancing the vocabulary, improving listening skills, strengthening memory, and building confidence in public speaking. Keeping this in mind, the Kindergarten section of Indian School Sohar organized a Storytelling Competition for UKG students on 12th February, 2026. A preliminary round was held across all four sections of UKG on 9th February 2026, and five students from each section were selected for the final round.

The stories presented by our little stars beautifully highlighted important moral values such as kindness, sharing, caring for others, and obeying parents and elders. Through simple yet powerful narratives, children conveyed that kindness makes the world happier, sharing brings friends closer, caring shows love and empathy, and respecting parents helps build strong character. These values, expressed through innocent voices and expressive actions, reminded us all of the importance of nurturing good habits from a young age.

The competition was coordinated by Ms. Anusha Omar with the judging panel comprising of Dr. Sheenam Samuel, Ms. Musarrat Begum, and Ms. Revathi

The little storytellers captivated the audience with their expressions, voice modulation, and wonderful stage presence. Each child displayed remarkable courage and enthusiasm, making the event truly memorable. We are incredibly proud of all our participants for their sincere effort and confidence.

Winners of the competition are:

First Position - Clarissa Leora Fernandes (UKG Marigold)

Second Position - Sara Aleyna (UKG Daffodil)

Third Position - Ameya Susan Eldho (UKG Orchid)

It was a beautiful event that really sparked imagination, confidence, and creativity among our young learners. Congratulations to all the participants and winners!
