INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR TEACHERS PARTICIPATED IN OTAR AL-SHU‘OUB SCIENTIFIC FORUM FOR MUSICAL SKILLS

The Otar Al-Shu‘oub Scientific Forum for Musical Skills was held on 11 February at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall, with the aim of promoting cultural exchange, developing musical skills, and highlighting music as a universal language.

The forum brought together educators and presenters from Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, South Africa, Iran, Zambia, Colombia, Pakistan, India, Kuwait, and Oman. Around 70 participants—including teachers, trainees, and school principals—attended the program, reflecting strong interest in its educational and cultural objectives.

The event featured diverse musical and cultural presentations representing global heritage and offered valuable professional learning opportunities for educators.

Three music teachers from Indian School Sohar—Ms. Maitrayi Mamtaj Chowdhury, Ms. Antaripa Sarma, and Mr. Pritam Sarkar—actively participated and received high appreciation. They were awarded certificates by the Department of the Director General of Education, North Al Batinah, in recognition of their contribution.

The forum was a meaningful and enriching initiative, successfully reinforcing the unifying power of music across cultures.
