A Faculty Development Programme on “Recent CBSE Initiatives: Transforming Teaching and Learning” was conducted for the teachers of Indian School Sohar on 27 July 2026 by the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma.
The session focused on the CBSE Three-Language Policy for 2026–27 and its class-wise implementation from Classes VI to X. Teachers were familiarised with the requirement of studying three languages, the selection of Bharatiya Bhashas, transitional relaxations for existing batches, school-based assessment of the third language (R3), and the provisions applicable to different language combinations.
The presentation also highlighted exemptions for Children with Special Needs, students studying in CBSE schools outside India, foreign students, and students whose parents migrate to another state. Staffing provisions, resource requirements and the R3 Language Assessment Framework and Learning Resources for Class IX were also explained.
The programme provided teachers with greater clarity regarding the recent CBSE guidelines and prepared them for their effective implementation in the school.
