15-09-2026

Indian School Sohar successfully organised a Health Mela on 31st August 2026 for Class VII under Kaushal Bodh, a CBSE initiative promoting skill-based and experiential learning. The programme was organised by the Science Department under the guidance of Ms. Nisha Sobti, HoD with the aim of developing practical health awareness and essential life skills among students.

The Health Mela provided students with an engaging platform to learn, practise and demonstrate important health-related skills through interactive stations on CPR, First Aid, body coordination analysis, calorie intake calculation, BMI assessment, temperature and blood pressure monitoring, hygiene analysis, and career counselling in healthcare and medicine.

In accordance with CBSE guidelines, each student was provided with a detailed Health Card, which was systematically completed through various health assessments and hands-on activities. The teachers and school nurse actively guided and supported the students throughout the Mela, making the learning experience practical, engaging and meaningful.

The Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, appreciated the initiative and the enthusiastic participation of the students. She emphasised the importance of integrating health awareness, practical life skills and experiential learning with academics, enabling students to become more informed, responsible and health-conscious individuals.
