CELEBRATING THE GUIDING LIGHTS: TEACHERS’ DAY 2026 AT INDIAN SCHOOL SOHAR

Indian School Sohar celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and grandeur on 3 September 2026 organised for Classes III–XII, the celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the teachers whose dedication and guidance continue to inspire generations of learners.

The celebrations commenced with a warm and memorable welcome for the teachers who were ushered in through a specially decorated balloon gate by members of the Student Council and were presented with beautiful greeting cards as a token of appreciation. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was followed by a floral tribute at the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, marking the significance of the occasion.

The cultural program showcased not only the love and affection of student community towards the teachers but the exceptional talent and creativity of the students also. The Classical Dance, School Band, Group Song, Fusion Dance and Talent Show received enthusiastic applause. The specially prepared Video Presentations featuring interviews with teachers and heartfelt messages from alumni added a personal touch, making the teachers feel truly valued and appreciated.

The skit by classes VI-VIII and Fashion Show by Classes III–V was specially applauded, with the young participants winning hearts through their confidence, creativity and vibrant presentation. Fun-filled games for teachers added moments of laughter and camaraderie. The celebration culminated in a spectacular Captains’ Dance, with Student Council members delivering an energetic performance.

In her address, the Principal, Ms. Sanchita Verma, highlighted the significance of Teachers’ Day and the important role teachers play in nurturing, guiding and inspiring students. Adding a creative and contemporary touch, she spoke about Gen Z, reflecting on the characteristics, aspirations and challenges of today’s generation and the important role of teachers in understanding, mentoring and guiding them. She congratulated the organising team and the entire Student Council, led by School Captains Rojus Paul and Aysha Hannan, appreciating their teamwork, creativity and dedication in making the celebration a grand success.

The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the guiding lights of education, filled with appreciation, joy and memorable moments.
