The “Stars in Action 2026 - ‘27” programme was organised for the students of Classes I and II of Indian School Sohar on 19th and 20th August 2026. The event provided a vibrant platform for young learners to showcase their talents, creativity, confidence and individual skills in a variety of categories.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Ms. Sanchita Verma, Principal; Mr. Yashvir Singh, Vice Principal; Ms. Indira Sukumaran, Assistant Vice Principal; Dr. Sheenam Samuel, Headmistress (Nursery–V); and Ms. S. Chitra, Supervisor (Nursery–II). They appreciated the dedicated efforts of the entire team behind this enriching and intellectually stimulating initiative. The programme was meticulously coordinated and successfully conducted by Ms. Priya Gladson and Ms. Santhi Ayyapan.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of both classes. A total of 132 student participated across different categories. The categories included Dance, Storytelling, Poetry Recitation, Mono Act, Vocal Singing, Drawing, Art Forms, Abacus and Open Talent. The Students of Classes I and II participated enthusiastically in all the categories.
The Dance category featured a variety of dance forms, such as Western Dance, Cinematic Dance, Bollywood Dance, Classical Dance, Folk Dance, Semi-Classical Dance and Fusion Dance.
The Storytelling, Poetry Recitation and Mono Act category provided students with opportunities to demonstrate their communication and expressive skills through English and Hindi poetry recitation, storytelling, creative expression and mono acts.
In Vocal Singing, students showcased their musical talents through English and Hindi vocal performances, action songs and instrument-with-vocal presentations.
The Art Forms category gave an opportunity to participants to display their creativity through drawing, collage and sculpture making. The Abacus category provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their numerical and mental calculation skills.
The Open Talent category gave students an opportunity to present their unique skills. Participants showcased talents such as Karate, Flag Identification, Blindfold activities, Yoga, Fireless Cooking and Magic with Science, among others.
The Dance competition was conducted on 19th and 20th August 2026. The Storytelling, Poetry Recitation and Mono Act competitions were conducted on 19th August 2026. The Open Talent, Art Forms, Abacus and Vocal Singing competitions were held on 20th August 2026.
The competitions were assessed by a panel of judges. The judging panel included Ms Rohini Ramesh, Ms Megha, Dr Lekshmi Raj, Dr Sheenam Samuel, Ms Dilna, Ms Mussarat, Ms Indira Sukumaran, Ms Dhanashree, Ms Pankaja Kulkarni, Ms Tushitha, Ms Shradha and Ms Sharanya, as assigned to the respective categories.
The event encouraged students to explore their talents, develop self-confidence, express themselves creatively and participate in a healthy and joyful competitive environment.
The enthusiastic participation and diverse talents displayed by the students made the programme a memorable experience. The event successfully reflected the school's commitment to providing children with opportunities to learn, perform, create and shine as little stars.
