ISS organized an interactive session on the use of multimedia and Smart Boards with English Supervisors of Omani schools in association with the Ministry of Education. In order to facilitate teaching learning process and to move with the modern and updated methods of teaching, ISS has equipped all its classrooms from KG to Class 12th with smart boards. The students are benefitting greatly from this initiative. On 21st March 2016 Ms. Halima A Thahli, D G Directorate General of Education in North Batinah & Regional Supervisor of English Language, English Unit Sohar DG, Mr. Anwar Al Balushi, Senior Supervisor of English Language, English Unit Sohar DG, Mr. Ahmed Al Kindi, Regional Supervisor of first dimension ( Arabic- Islamic Social Studies) Sohar DG- Private School Section visited the school and studied at length the use of multimedia and Smart Boards in the teaching of English Language.
The visitors were highly impressed by the extensive use of multimedia used by the teachers and had numerous queries about the varied uses of technology in teaching. The Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma and HOD English Mrs. Divya Johari extensively discussed all the aspects of the usage of multimedia and Smart Boards leaving the visitors thoroughly satisfied about the efficacy of this system, impressing upon them that whereas students often lose interest during lecture-style teaching, interactive teaching style promotes an atmosphere of attention and participation, making it interesting and exciting.
