A special assembly was conducted to celebrate Janamashtami on 28 August, 2016, a festival which commemorates the earthly arrival of Lord Krishna.
The assembly began with the prayer song. This was followed by a speech telling the story of Krishna’s birth and spoke on how Janamsahtami is celebrated as ‘Dahi Handi’. The audience was also told about how the festival is celebrated with pomp and gaiety all over India.
A melodious song sung by the choir added solemnity to the occasion.
Little girls dressed as gopis, Radha and as Lord Krishna danced on this occasion. The assembly concluded with a message from the Principal Mrs. Sanchita Verma on the significance of Janamashtami festival which encourages goodwill and togetherness.
