Competition of Arithmetic Operations Using Models was conducted with great enthusiasm at Indian School Sohar on 12th June 2016. The Mathematics Department organized it for the Middle Section to provide a platform for the young minds to present their innovative and creative ideas. The participants showed a keen understanding of the basic principles. Their interest in presenting the new perspectives was evident in the variety of models that came up. The judgment was on the basis of content, explanation and presentation.
The students got an opportunity to learn more about the various operations through their peer group and a healthy learning process was witnessed. Models added a new dimension to the mathematical principles taught in class. The competition had generated a lot of curiosity among the students, both participants and non-participants, and the response was a measure enough to testify its success.
