Indian School Sohar organised a Food Donation Drive on 12th June’16 wherein the students of Class VI brought snacks and drinks to be shared with the construction workers and the OIG staff of the school. Organised with the intention of adding value to the communities that serve us, it made the students aware of the joy of giving back to the society in whatever little measure they can. Teachers also pitched in with their contributions setting a good example for the students to emulate.
After distributing the goods in the school premises, a group of selected student representatives, along with a few teachers went to their camp also to share the collections. This gesture provided an opportunity to the students to show their appreciation for their sweat and toil. A brainchild of the School Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, the drive served to stir up the hearts of the students, bringing out the empathy, benevolence and kindness of their characters.
The drive was definitely a step forward in the direction of imparting holistic education to the students. Heartfelt participation and response to the call for this philanthropic act, reciprocated by the smiles of the workers, bore ample testimony to its success.
