As a part of the global programme of events and activities celebrating William Shakespeare’s work on the occasion of his 400th Death Anniversary in 2016, a day was dedicated to the Bard of Avon in ISS on 1st December 2016. Special assemblies were organized in all the classes by respective English teachers.
Thought provoking quotations from Shakespeare’s works were cited and speeches were delivered to bring his legendary existence into the classrooms. A short presentation on the life and works of Shakespeare was shown to the students to involve them with him beyond their texts. A quiz was also conducted in some classes. The various activities were enjoyed by the students as they got to know more about the national poet of England and the most prominent figure of English literature.
