“One best book is equal to hundred good friends and one good friend is equal to a library “said Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. This quote mirrors the importance of good books in our lives. Reading good books creates right mindset, improves vocabulary, manifolds our communication skill and cultivates thoughtfulness in young minds.

Magnifying books as asset, Indian School Sohar organized the DEAR (drop everything and read) time as part of the” Joy of reading” programme initiated by the school library, from 18th April- 20th April 2017. During these three days classes I –VII observed an exclusive DEAR time by devoting 10 minutes of the first period in pleasure reading. Students and teachers gladly spent the allotted time with their best friend. The following are the glimpses of the moments.
