Green Gyan –Eco Club of Indian School Sohar organised a Food Donation Drive on 7th June 2017. The students of Class V to VII brought snacks and drinks to be shared with the construction workers, the OIG workers and private bus drivers, both in the school premises and at camps. Ms. Preeti Jaipuria, Section Co-ordinator of Green Gyan, distributed the food items to the workers of Jindal Shadeed. This effort was highly appreciated by Admin. Mr. Hameed Al Farsi and Mr. Ansari.
Organised with the intention of helping the communities that serve us, it made the students aware of the joy of giving in whatever little measure they can. The enthusiasm and passion with which the students came forward for the drive was commendable. They felt proud in extending a helping hand and it inspired them to be compassionate and beneficial. Teachers also pitched in with their contributions setting a good example for the students to emulate.
Principal, Mrs. Sanchita Verma, addressed the students and inspired them to continue the good work at their small but significant level. She appreciated the effort and felt gratified that the maximum number of students have taken part in donating the food and helping the needy.
