Sports, is an integral part of everyone’s life. The morning of 21st January was an inspiring one for the students of Indian School Sohar because Sakshi Shetty of class VII-C was felicitated by the Principal by giving her a memento. She was selected in the Oman’s Women Cricket Team. She had a wonderful opportunity to play for the Oman team against Malaysia in Kulalampur from 25th December to 30th December, 2017. The Oman Women’s team gave the Malaysian team a tough fight in the three T-20 Bilateral series. The Malaysian team won the series with 2-1margin. As a result of hard work, commitment and dedication towards the sports, she has been able to reach at a great heights. Sakshi shared her experience to everyone and also said that everyone should take up any sport, for the physical and emotional well-being of an individual. She thanked the school Managing Committee, Principal Ms. Sanchitha Verma, Vice Principal Dr. Vinu Kumar, Teachers and her friends for the support they have extended to her success. She also expressed her gratitude to her coach Mr. Kamal Gurung. She proved that age is not a factor but true efforts matter.
